About Hurricane
Hurricane (pronounced “Hur-i-kin”) got its name in the 1860s when a powerful windstorm (reportedly 70 mph) blew the top off a buggy occupied by Mormon leader Erastus Snow. He supposedly exclaimed, “Well, that was a hurricane!” and the name stuck for the nearby valley.

To get to the airport From Hurricane, take UT-9 W toward I-15. Merge onto I-15 S, then take exit 6 for UT-7 E (Southern Parkway) to the St. George Regional Airport (SGU). The drive is approximately 25 minutes.
